Contains statutes covering the regnal years 1 Edward III to 9 Richard II. At the end (ff. 89-90), also contains, in a different but contemporary hand, a commission of 10 Richard II (from which the manuscript creation date is derived).

Antiquarian Samuel Meyrick was born into a wealthy family, graduated from Oxford, and worked as an advocate. He had an abiding interest in history, and published numerous articles on the subject, as well as writing several books and editing several others. He collected armor, eventually building a famous collection, and designed a mansion with special rooms to display his collection.
